Wednesday, April 24, 2024

Town Office Building

1 Academy Street, Swanton, VT

6:30 p.m.

Present: Ross Lavoie-Chair, Andy LaRocque, Ed Daniel, Heather Buczkowski-Members, Amy Giroux-Zoning Administrator, Christina Candels-Administrative Assistant, Corey Parent, Toby - Corey’s intern via Zoom

1. Call to Order

Mr. Lavoie called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.

2. Agenda Review

Mr. Lavoie reviewed the agenda.

3. Review minutes of April 10, 2024

Mr. Daniel made a motion to approve April 1, 2024, draft minutes as written, seconded by Mr. LaRocque. Motion carried.

4. Land Use & Development Regulations Review

Corey & Toby reviewed definitions in the bylaws as written. Toby also compared the current definitions in Swanton vs comparable towns. Corey will send the definition comparisons to Amy to make notes/suggestions.

The commission reviewed current districts and how they compare to other towns.

Planning Commission members then reviewed current districts on the map. The commission discussed what is currently allowed in districts and if some should be changed to allow future housing growth to be less restrictive.

5. Next Planning Commission meeting date

May 6, 2024, Joint meeting with Development Review Board 6:30 pm.

May 15, 2024, Regular Planning Commission Meeting 6:30 pm.

None

8. Adjournment

Mr. LaRocque made a motion to adjourn at 7:54 pm, seconded by Ms. Buczkowski. Motion carried.
